❤️ Move-In 238: A Home for the Holidays, Thanks to You

There are moves that feel like hard work, and then there are moves that feel like a mission. Move-In 238 was both.

On Friday, November 21st, our leads Nicole Herweck and Dee Bauer showed up with purpose—and a small but mighty team—to furnish a third-floor walk-up for a young man rebuilding his life through the Kenneth Young Center.

They were joined by volunteers Cyndi Gloodt, Darlene Groom, Lisa Geneser, Don Herweck, and Lynda Rivard, along with Adan and Freddie from Clear Space Junk Removal, who stepped in to help with the heavy lifting (literally). The stairs were endless, the furniture was real, and the laughs were frequent. This is what community looks like: everyone doing what they can, side by side, until a space becomes a home.

Our client has been working hard to get back on track—this home is part of that journey. Today, he steps into a fully furnished, comfortable apartment with everything he needs to start fresh. As we enter the holiday season, that kind of stability means more than most of us will ever know.

And because we believe in the details, Linda Farley surprised him with a beautiful welcome basket. A small gesture—with a huge message: you matter, and people are rooting for you.

To everyone who donated furniture, linens, dishes, towels, and household essentials… to everyone who gives from the heart to make these transformations possible: thank you. Whether you lift couches or lift us in prayer—every single part counts.

We are grateful for this team, for this mission, and for the chance to walk into Thanksgiving knowing one more person is home.

Happy Thanksgiving, from all of us at Home to Home Project.
